Category C Licence (Class 2/Rigid)

This licence is required to drive rigid vehicles over 3.5 tonnes and up to 32 tonnes.

You must be 18 years old or over to hold this licence.

There are several steps that need to be completed to gain your licence. Take a look at our Route to the Road to find out what these steps are!

JLD can offer 3 packages to help gain your Cat C licence! The Bronze, Silver and Gold! (Click to find out more!)

The Silver and Gold packages include a JLD mentor who will plan your training and be available to provide information, advice and guidance throughout your training.

Training courses can start from either our branch in Banbury or our site in Abingdon (Steventon Storage Facility) but all training will be spent around the Abingdon area as there are currently no C or C+E test routes available around the Banbury area.

All of our training takes place on the actual DVSA test routes so as to give the candidate the best possible chance of passing first time. We also have our own DVSA accredited test area so you can relax in the knowledge you will be in familiar surroundings on test day and reverse on the area you have been practicing on throughout your course.

Our instructors have passed an assessment which allows them to carry out the 3a off road manoeuvres test, the 3b on road test will be carried out by a DVSA examiner. You are always guaranteed a 3a and 3b test within your 3, 5 or 10 day training course.

All of our instructors are trained to an extremely high standard, this means they have taken an advanced driving test and an instructional ability test with RTITB (NRI) or with our senior instructor to not only prove they can drive to an exceptionally high standard but also instruct in a manner that is clear and informative. Regular monitoring is carried out along with standardisation meetings to make sure we continue to deliver training of the highest standard.

If you would like to enquire about one of our packages, please call the office or fill out the enquiry form and one of the team will get in touch with you to answer any questions you may have.
